For the last five weeks, the field manager and a couple of refs have spent considerable time after all of the games are over picking up garbage left by the teams and their friends that come to watch. This is unacceptable. Pick up your freaking trash. I can't begin to tell you how infuriating it is to have to pick up after adults because you're too lazy to do it yourself. There are empty bottles, cans, wrappers, and cigarette butts/packs strewn all over the fields that you're leaving after you play your games. It should go without saying, but we are guests at Morton Middle School. The league is expected to clean up after themselves when the day is over. If you had a guest that left your home in that condition, you'd be less inclined to invite them back over. That's what will happen if you can't pick up after yourselves, because you're too lazy to pick up your trash. When that happens, I hope you'll be satisfied with us having to look for new fields again. There's one huge dumpster that takes trash at the main field entrance. There is also usually a trash bag stationed by where the field manager sits between fields 1 and 2. This is common sense, people. If you have trash, throw it away. My elementary school aged kids do a far better job cleaning up after themselves than the adults that play in this league. |
