This is getting ridiculous, guys. The filed manager and refs had to spend close to an hour picking up water bottles, cans of energy drinks, Gatorade bottles, cigarette packs, and other crap that you guys are leaving on the fields. Want to know what else is getting ridiculous? That we have to keep reminding people who are supposed to be ADULTS to pick up their trash. My kids do a better job cleaning up than a lot of you. Quite frankly, it's a pain in the ass to help the field manager set up the fields, get all of the flags and field equipment loaded up, only to see that a bunch of lazy "adults" didn't want to pick up after themselves. There's a huge green dumpster at the field entrance that can more than accommodate your trash. There's also normally trash bags by the field manager's chair to throw stuff away in, too. Really, it's not difficult. Throwing away trash is quite possibly the easiest thing to do. You have to be 18 or older to play in the league, which means that you should at least have the common sense and decency to pick up your mess. If you haven't, please stay home. Would you leave your own home littered in garbage? Would you leave a home where you were a guest littered in garbage? Refs are going to stop babysitting and picking up your trash. When that happens, your crap gets left behind, then the school gets pissed at the league, then we have to find a new place to play again. That's on you guys. I fail to see why anyone thinks this is okay. |
